being a poet is my favorite definition of science
I believe that being a poet is a way of walking in the world, and writing is creating glimpses into the worlds of others. To me the core of poetry is questioning our paradigms of truth, examining the world around us, and sharing something with the reader. Writing in many forms is exploration, and poetry asks us to question not only our topic of interest but its relationship with tension and structure.
Much like good science, good poetry leaves questions in the place of answers. Poetry calls the poet to seek expansion in the mundane and the seemingly simple, seemingly insignificant; it asks us to view the world with unbridled curiosity and share not only our findings but the thoughts that carried us to our destination.
